     在一九九二年九月二十六日週六的晚間，我們為著聖迦谷開工舉行了一次預備聚會。開始時我們唱了一首詩歌，「哦，我願成為無有」（聖徒詩歌第395首）。這首詩歌代表著我們來此開工的心願，「哦，我願成為無有，惟在祂腳前守候；願我器皿破碎倒空，好適合我主來使用。」真的不是我們能作什麼，乃是讓主先作工在我們身上。「但我願意臥於塵土，好讓世人見我救主。」是的，願主的名被高舉，願祂的榮耀得著稱讚。

     結束時我們唱「聖徒眾心，愛裏相繫」（聖徒詩歌第696首），這是主向我們的要求，也是大家彼此的勉勵。「主的群羊，同來祂前，更新誓約與奉獻；忠心服事，全心愛戴，因你君王已奏凱。」但願這個聚會能為主作愛的見證，同作肢體、同為弟兄，彼此相愛、主裏合一。這十年中經過了無數的試煉與各樣的難處，我們雖有許多的失敗與軟弱，仍不敢忘記主對我們的要求，「但願我們光照明耀，使主榮光得反照；但願世人確知無疑，我們乃真屬於祢。」

In the evening of September 26, 1992, we had a preparatory meeting for the ministry in San Gabriel.   We started the meeting with the hymn titled “Oh, To Be Nothing” (Hymnary #395) for it described well our heart in the initial point of a new ministry.  “Oh, to be nothing ,nothing!  Only to lie at His feet;  A broken and emptied vessel for the Master’s use made meet!”  It was not we could do something for Him, but allowed Him to work on us first.  “Yet low in the dust I’d lay me that the world might my Savior see.”  Yes, may the Lord’s name be exalted, and His glory proclaimed.

We ended that meeting with the hymn titled “Christian Hearts, in Love United”(Hymnary #696), as our prayer request to the Lord and encouragement to one another.  “Come then, come, O flock of Jesus, Covenant with Him anew; Unto Him, Who conquered for us, Pledge we love and service true.”   May our ministry be the testimony of the Lord’s love:  be loving members of the same body and unite in the Lord.  We have gone through numerous trials and difficulties in the past ten years.   Even though having many weaknesses and failures, we dare not forget the request of the Lord: “May our light before men with brightness from Thy light reflected shine; Thus the world will bear us witness That we, Lord, are truly Thine.”
